West Yorkshire

Internal doors supplied & fitted across West Yorkshire

Leeds, Bradford, Wakefield, Huddersfield and Halifax are the far end of our patch, and we plan those jobs a little differently — usually a single measuring visit and then a full fitting day rather than several short trips.

    Fitting doors in West Yorkshire

West Yorkshire has more stone terraced housing than anywhere else we work, and a lot of it is back-to-back or through-terrace with narrow hallways and stairs. That has a real bearing on door choice. In a tight hallway a standard hinged door eats the walkway when open, which is where a bi-fold earns its place, and on a narrow landing a glazed door does more for the light than any amount of decorating.

There is also a large private rented sector here, and with it a lot of properties that need fire doors rather than ordinary ones. Any three-storey house, any loft conversion with a habitable room, and houses in multiple occupation generally need FD30 doors onto the stair enclosure. The rating depends on the whole assembly — leaf, frame, intumescent seals and three rated hinges — not just the door, which is why we would rather supply and fit those than supply them alone.

Because it is a longer run for us, we are straight about scale: for one or two doors you will do better with someone local. For a full house, or a landlord doing several properties, the drive stops mattering and we are competitive.
