Do you supply and fit?

Yes — Buchanans of Yorkshire handles everything from supply through to professional fitting. You don't need to source or transport doors yourself. We order direct from the manufacturer and bring everything to your property.

Do you offer factory-finished (pre-painted) doors?

Yes! Many of our ranges come factory-finished — meaning they arrive painted and ready to hang with no decorating required. This is ideal if you want a flawless, consistent finish without the hassle of painting. Look for 'Pre-finished: Yes' on any door's detail page.

What guarantee comes with the doors?

Guarantees vary by door type and manufacturer. Many wood veneer and premium ranges carry a 10-year manufacturer guarantee. Factory-painted doors typically carry a 5-year finish guarantee. Primed doors carry a 3–5 year guarantee on the substrate. All guarantees are passed directly to you.

Do you supply ironmongery (handles, hinges, locks)?

We can advise on and supply handles and ironmongery to complement your chosen doors. Alternatively, you're welcome to source your own handles and we'll fit them. Hinges and latches are typically included in the fitting cost.

How long does fitting take?

For a typical job of 3–5 doors, fitting is usually completed in a single day. Larger projects and timescales will require longer, however we will always provide an accurate timescale for completion.

What preparation do I need to do before fitting day?

Please ensure clear access to each doorway. We advise keeping the landing/hall area clear to allow for a resting area for the doors and tools.

Can you fit non-standard sized doors?

Accepted Answer

Most doorways take a standard-sized door, but older properties — particularly Victorian and Edwardian homes — sometimes have unusual openings. We measure each doorway precisely and can advise on options during our site visit. We can also build custom doors to suit small cupboards or non-standard sizes. These are priced on a case-by-case basis.

Do you travel outside Yorkshire?
