A primed door arrives with the base coat already on it, ready to be painted once fitted. It is the most cost-effective way to buy internal doors, and the right choice if you want a particular colour rather than a standard white.
The trade-off is the painting. Primed doors need at least two top coats after fitting, and they need it reasonably promptly — primer is a preparation surface, not a protective one, and left bare for months it will pick up marks and moisture. If you would rather not paint at all, the white pre-finished range does the same job with the finish already applied.
Painting after fitting rather than before is usually the better order. Doors get handled, trimmed and adjusted during installation, and any of that will mark a finished surface. Fit first, decorate second, and you paint once.
These are the doors we fit most often in whole-house replacements, simply because the price per door lets people do every room at once. Prices include supply and installation.
