East Yorkshire
We are based in Goole, which puts most of East Yorkshire within a comfortable drive — Howden, Snaith, Beverley, Hull, Driffield and the villages between them.
Being local matters more with doors than with most trades. Measuring is a visit, fitting is a visit, and if something needs adjusting six months later that is a visit too. Working close to home is what lets us quote for a single door as readily as for a whole house.
The housing stock here is mixed and the doors follow it. Victorian and Edwardian terraces around Hull and Beverley usually suit four-panel doors in oak or primed white, matching the original proportions. The 1930s semis take a three-panel or a period glazed door. Newer estates around Goole, Howden and Brough are generally standard metric sizes — a straightforward fit and a lower price per door.
Older properties are where measuring earns its keep. Openings in a period house are rarely square and a door often needs scribing rather than simply hanging, so we measure at several heights before ordering rather than discovering it on fitting day.
